A talented young ballet dancer from Tywyn has been helped by a bursary from the Trust to attend one of the country's leading dance schools.

Stevie Mudge had been attending ballet classes since the age of six and had dreamed of becoming professional dancer. In recent years, her dedication had led to her travelling every day after school to Aberystwyth to attend classes.

With a little help from the Trust, Stevie had attended classes at the Royal Academy of Dance in London, and taken part in workshops with the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Northern Ballet in Leeds. She also attended monthly classes at the Hammond School Chester and took part in performances across the UK.

"Stevie has in abundance the qualities that the Trust likes to encourage" said Peter Saunders. "She shows great endeavour and has been single minded in the pursuit of her dream. She is an inspiration to young people to work hard and to make the most of their talents."

Her talent and dedication to dance certainly impressed tutors at the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. Stevie was offered a place and set her heart on going. With help from her family, a scholarship from the school and a bursary from The Peter Saunders Trust, Stevie could take up the place and pursue her dreams of a career as a classical dancer.
